The human form has always been a key motif in Paul's work. Pots in the Nude Series explore the tensions and inter-relationship between the clay form and the human body. Originally on black grounds, the nudes explore the power of the monochrome pallet, drawing on a lifetime's love of drawing in charcoal.

More recently, some of the nudes have incorporated a full colour pallet as in the rocking vase below and on the home page.
